Mornings can be super hectic and we all know how vital it is to get breakfast in our tummy tum tum. (KIDS TOO!) It’s not always easy though. Between making sure lunches are made, everyone’s dressed, teeth are brushed (on a good day) and hair is combed (on a very good day) breakfast can sometimes turn out to be a far cry from healthy. I’ve got a few super quick, and super healthy recipes to get your day started off in a healthy direction. Because we all know, if we start off our day eating crap it typically doesn’t get better as the day goes on. Just sayin’ :)
The Four Superstars are.....
-Sprouted Toast with Almond Butter and banana slices. Delicious!
-Green Smoothie: 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, large handful of spinach, 1 banana, ½ cup of frozen berries, 1 tbsp of almond butter, and a handful of ice. Blend it up and out the door! The perfect to go meal!
-Scrambled eggs with organic corn tortilla, sliced avocado and favorite salsa. I promise I’ve made this in less than 5 minutes!
-Crockpot steel cut oats: A Lewis family favorite! All you do is put 1 cup SC oats and 4 cups water in the crockpot on low overnight and wake up to a fuss free meal! Put your berries, flaxseed meal, and almond milk in and you’ve got a big bowl of wholesome yumminess!
