Welcome to 2014! So excited for this year. Instead of the whole resolution thing I’ve decided to opt for a yearly theme. Are you ready for mine?
2014….The year of JOY! So excited about this. I’m going to focus on living in the present and finding the sweetness in simple moments. Joy is all around us everyday and it’s my job to soak it up!
My goal is to find this “joy” even in the things I’m not particularly pumped about. Not sure if you know this about me, but I’m not a cook. I don’t enjoying making meals. I do it. But I don’t enjoy it. I’m envious of my friends who gush about how cooking is therapeutic and their time in the kitchen is blissful and rewarding. When I get into the kitchen I dread and grumble. It seems like every time I put my heart into a meal and work my tail off, the bounties are never appreciated. The food gets gobbled up (on a good night) or complained about (which makes you feel so warm and fuzzy inside) and then the table gets cleared and the dished are waiting. And then guess what? You’ve got to do it again tomorrow! Bah!
But, tis’ the year of JOY! I’m going to find joy in cooking!! It can be done I know it. I’ll be filling my blog with cleansing recipes this month. I need to refresh and restart with healthy eating. Did I mention December was a very SWEET month? As I chop, steam, juice, blend and boil I hope you’ll find inspiration for healthy eating and perhaps a little joy as well.
