I've been making tons of kefir lately. It's really great for tummy health. Remember that approximately 70% of our immune system is in our gut, so I'm going to go ahead and say that tummy health is pretty important. My personal favorite way to get it into my daily diet is through smoothies. I typically have one a day so I just pour 1/2- 1 cup of kefir into the mix.
My ladies on the other hand like to opt in a little bit different direction. In comes the Kefir popsicle! First thing my twins ask for when they walk in the door is a popsicle. Honestly it could be any popsicle (healthy or not so much). But because the kefir kind is so stinkin' good for them they alway recieve a resounding "YES" from this mama!
Here's how I make them!
- 1 c of Kefir
- 1 c of Almond milk
- 1 cup of strawberries (I buy organic frozen strawberries so I always have them on hand)
- 1 large banana
- 4-5 drops of stevia
In a blender, mix all ingredients together. Pour them into popsicle molds or even just small platic cups with a plastic spoon dipped in. In a couple of hours you'll be licking to your hearts content.
